now more from manhattan, illinois, with the latest. garrett? >> reporter: steve, you can see crews are getting back out this morning beginning to fix those power lines, open up these neighborhoods again. people are getting back to these homes that they had to leave yesterday. officials say as they they're surveying the area this morning, they'll get a better idea of how widespread this damage is throughout the region. the worst damage we are seeing is in washington. that is the tornado that maria was talking about, the winds between 160 and 200 miles an hour, demolished entire neighborhoods there. search p rescue teams were on the ground throughout the afternoon and evening last night looking for anyone that was injured there. we are told dozens and dozens of people were injured. they're going to be continuing those efforts this morning. the illinois national guard is on scene as well assisting with the search and rescue efforts. we will continue to get updates throughout this morning on just what the situation looks like as the sun comes up ag
